The Priciest Public Golf Courses Near Denver

Eight Front Range courses where 18 holes averaged $77 or more, and what the real availability data says about whether they're actually worth it.

Fossil Trace Golf Club in Golden, with a green set against sandstone rock formations

We log real tee time pricing across 76 Colorado public courses every 15 minutes, which means we can also see how demand actually tracks against price, not just the sticker rate. These are the eight priciest 18-hole rounds we captured between June and August 2026, based on over a million snapshots. A couple of them justify the price with real scarcity; a couple of others charge a premium rate and still never sell out. For the cheaper end of the market, see the cheapest courses we track, or the full data report for all 58 courses with reliable pricing.

1

Fossil Trace Golf Club

$123.29/round avg.

Fossil Trace is the priciest course we track, and also the hardest to book, showing fully open only 7% of the time in our data. It's carved through the same rock formations that give the course its name, with real dinosaur fossils visible along a few fairways, and it's consistently ranked among Colorado's best public courses. At $123 average, it's the one course on this list where the price and the demand actually agree with each other.

2

Fox Hollow Golf Course

$91.86/round avg.

Fox Hollow is 27 holes split into three 9-hole loops (Canyon, Meadow, Links) that mix and match into any 18-hole round, and it's one of Lakewood's best-regarded municipal facilities. At $91.86 average it's the second priciest course we track, but it only sold out 5% of the time, meaning the premium price doesn't come with a hard-to-book premium too.

3

Commonground Golf Course

$91.57/round avg.

Commonground is a Tom Doak design run by the City of Denver, which makes it the actual most expensive round you can book inside Denver city limits. It's a links-style layout with wide, imaginative holes and real Front Range views, averaging $91.57.

4

Todd Creek Golf Club

$84.81/round avg.

Todd Creek is a championship links-style course in Thornton with real elevation change and long views across the Front Range, averaging $84.81 for 18 holes.

5

Meadows Golf Club

$83.29/round avg.

Meadows is where price and demand really part ways. It's a well-regarded Foothills Park & Rec course in Littleton with water hazards and foothill views, averaging $83.29, but it never once showed fully booked across more than 13,800 snapshots. If you want a premium round without fighting for the tee sheet, this is probably it.

6

Foothills Golf Course

$83.29/round avg.

Foothills Golf Course, also run by Foothills Park & Rec, tied Meadows exactly at $83.29 average and also never sold out once in our data. It's a Dick Phelps design set in the rolling terrain between Denver and the mountains, and between these two, the Foothills district might be the best premium-but-available value in the metro.

7

Plum Creek Golf Club

$78.98/round avg.

Plum Creek is a Pete Dye design in Castle Rock with real elevation drama and views out toward Pikes Peak, averaging $78.98. It sold out just 6% of the time in our data.

8

Homestead Golf Course

$77.38/round avg.

Homestead rounds out the list at $77.38. It's a Lakewood executive course built for a quicker round, with a full practice facility if you want to warm up first, and it rarely sold out in our data.

How this is measured

Prices are the average 18-hole rate captured across our full polling window (June 12 – Aug 19, 2026), not list prices pulled from a website. Sellout rate is how often that course showed zero open tee times when we checked. Rates change with season, day of week, and time of day, so treat these as a starting point for comparison, not a quote.

Disclaimer. Figures are drawn from TeeScout's own availability-history logging between June 12 and Aug 19, 2026. Pricing and availability change; always confirm current rates directly with the course before booking.
