9-Hole Golf Courses Near Denver

Eight real 9-hole courses across the metro, not shortened 18s, for when you want to play but don't have four hours.

A full 18 holes takes four to five hours once you count the drive and the wait on the tee. Sometimes that's not the assignment. These eight courses are real 9-hole layouts spread across the Denver metro, good for a lunch break, an evening loop, or introducing a kid to the game without losing their attention halfway through. If you'd rather ease in even further, see our guide to the most beginner-friendly courses in the area, several of these overlap.

Kennedy's par-3 course sits right alongside its full 18-hole sibling in southeast Denver. It's a genuine short-game course, not a scaled-down real one, which makes it a solid pick when you want to actually play golf in under an hour instead of squeezing in a rushed nine.

One of two 9-hole options at the Foothills complex in Lakewood, this one's a full executive layout rather than all par-3s, so there's a bit more club variety in the bag even on a quick round.

The other Foothills nine, all par-3s this time. Between the two, this complex has options for whatever pace you're after on a given afternoon.

Emerald Greens is a well-kept par-3 nine in Thornton with real Front Range views, despite the short yardage. It's an easy add-on to an evening rather than a full outing.

The Blue Course at Hyland Hills is one of the most-played 9-hole layouts in the northern metro, and it's a real regulation nine (two par 5s, two par 3s, five par 4s), not a pitch-and-putt. Worth the drive if you want an actual test in a short window.

Tucked into Aurora's Heather Gardens community, this nine is small, walkable, and about as low-friction as a round of golf gets. Good for a lunch-break loop.

Stoney Creek is a friendly, no-frills public nine in Arvada. It's aimed squarely at beginners and juniors, which also makes it one of the least intimidating quick rounds on this list.

Greenway Park is walking-only, which keeps the pace honest, and it's built for exactly this kind of quick, low-commitment round in Broomfield.
